PAIR

PAIR is an exploration of courtship rituals, and the art of finding a mate in the Animal Kingdom, while examining gender roles and gender fluidity in nature. The piece was developed in close collaboration with the dancers and composers. It was created while in residence at SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts in San Francisco and supported by the Dancers' Group CA$H Fund. Excerpts of the piece were presented at California Academy of Sciences.

A second, condensed iteration of PAIR was created while in residence with Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company, but the performance was cancelled due to COVID-19. The company then commissioned a screendance of the piece, directed by Gray.
